Business is NOT in operation but feel free to read a little about me

In March of 2020 my inspiration, support and biggest fan of this company, my wife Nicole, was laid to rest after a long and hard fought battle with breast cancer. Every hesitation I had about starting this company, every worry and doubt I had in myself was always put aside when speaking with her. She would offer me words of encouragement and believed so deeply in me and my vision I could never have quit. Giving Nicole a gift was the inspiration behind learning to sew, and now she is my inspiration to keep sewing. She may no longer be sitting beside me laughing or smiling while I sew, but she is always near and will be my inspiration for everything I create.

Born and raised in Maryland in the Bowie area for my entire life I watched my mother hand-make nearly every Halloween costume and pair of PJ’s my sisters and I had growing up. I have always found great joy in puzzles and creating which has translated well into my adult life of home renovation, building furniture and finally the art of sewing.

I began sewing about eight years ago first sewing under the guidance of my mother making a pair of pajamas for my wife, Nicole. After finishing my first creation and realizing that homemade products made with my own hands and heart could give someone else so much joy I was inspired to continue challenging myself with new patterns and projects.

I started this company with the intention of focusing solely on RennFest costumes and Cosplay, two subcultures I still love to participate in.  As time progressed and the costume seasons came and went I found myself wanting to focus in on and focus on making things that could be used for more than dress up and also be used professionally. That is where we arrive on my current incarnation of “The Bro Who Sews” bringing Maryland Pride (and now many others) to the forefront of my company.
